Ogden Regional Medical Center Office

Summarize the project's program, features and achievements?

This project is for a new, concrete tilt-up medical office building, built adjacent to the existing Ogden Regional Medical Center. Construction included the four-story core and shell building, tenant improvements for multiple suites on the 2nd and 4th floors - Cardiac Services, CV Spine, and NUCA, and a pedestrian bridge that adjoins the new office building with the existing adjacent hospital. Challenges included numerous design changes and construction on an active hospital campus. Site constraints required a well-planned logistics strategy to minimize disruption to staff, patients, and visitors. To avoid disturbances to the operational Cancer Care Center located to the north, Big -D worked after hours to set the south wall panels on the new structure. Additionally, with just 200-ft of crane boom, additional coordination and precautions were necessary to avoid disrupting the path of emergency helicopters landing on the nearby helipad. The Ogden MOB was a significant accomplishment for Big-D’s concrete crew as it set the all-time company record for the tallest tilt-up panels to date (time of construction), all completed with no interruption to adjacent hospital operations.
