Trask - Novant MOB

Summarize the project's program, features, and achievements: Novant Health, the leading healthcare provider in the Brunswick County region, recognized the need to expand its medical services due to the growing population. To meet this demand, they constructed a new 2-story, 33,647 sq ft Medical Office Building adjacent to their existing 100-bed hospital at the Brunswick Medical Center campus. The new building relocates some existing offices to a more accessible location and offers a range of new healthcare services. To ensure that the new building blends seamlessly with the existing campus, Novant Health partnered with a team of skilled designers, developers, and contractors. The team worked tirelessly to create an attractive and budget-friendly solution that met the needs of the campus. The result was the Trask - Novant MOB, a stunning medical office building that serves the community's healthcare needs perfectly. The building features two types of embedded thin brick, each with a different bond pattern, with an attractive projected cornice capping it off. The architects leveraged oversized bays to reduce interior building columns, creating long-term flexibility for future tenants. Panel weights, widths, and erection sequencing were heavily dictated due to the neighboring street being 3.5’ below the finished floor level and only 30’ away. Completing the structure is a 30x40’ dropoff canopy that welcomes the building's users with a pleasant amenity at their arrivals and departures. Overall, the Trask - Novant MOB complements the existing campus perfectly, offers expanded healthcare services, and provides convenient access to patients. Novant Health is proud to have created such a remarkable building that will serve the community's healthcare needs for many years to come. Their commitment to providing top-notch medical services to the region is unwavering, and the Trask - Novant MOB is a testament to this.

What obstacles were overcome related to the schedule, budget, program, specification, site, etc. on this project? Limited Site Access, Coordinating with existing campus buildings, tight budget to meet appearance goals
