With architect Nagy Architecture LLC, the Sawgrass Place North Warehouse is specifically designed to accommodate manufacturing. Hundreds of goods are manufactured daily for the market. This sparkling new facility, a 132,200 square foot one story modern warehouse is a welcomed addition in South Florida and provides a lot of work opportunities in different areas with easy access to the Sawgrass Expressway for commerce.
The Tilt-Up method of construction was the best approach for this Owner and design team in that the architectural flexibility and time savings of construction heavily favored the Tilt-Up system.
Probably the biggest challenge on this project was installing the foundations, due to an exorbitant amount of rain water on a site that did percolate very well. Once the foundation was installed, the balance of the construction went much smoother!
The building’s architecture includes several different height panels, many different cast in reveal profiles, form-liner, and cast in place entrance canopies on differing radiuses. The facade profile is further complimented by varying steps in and out on the footprint that provides more modern architectural dimensioning.
Due to the site constraints to fit two buildings, the designers created a “Saw tooth” concept at the rear of the buildings that provides for adequate and efficient load, unload and truck traffic flow in limited space.
