FCC Environmental

FCC Environmental is a Materials Recovery Facility in northeast Houston servicing the city’s residential recycling needs. The 104,000 SF facility is divided into two main components: office and processing floor. A pre-engineered metal building houses the fully automated sorting and processing area while load bearing tilt wall construction was used for the adjoining 14,000 SF office. This office serves as the front door of the facility and contains administrative offices, employee support areas and public education center, consisting of a large meeting room and elevated pathway for viewing the processing area. This facility was designed to FCC and City of Houston standards and can process 145,000 metric tons of waste per year.
