This new, speculative industrial building is located on a prominent corner site in a newer, southeast Denver, Colorado industrial park. The owner desired an energy efficient, cost effective building that projected a bold image in a competitive market. The use of tilt-up concrete wall panels was important in developing a high performance, low maintenance building shell that fit the owner's construction budget and schedule. Tilt-up construction served to be an affordable method that allowed a creative variety on the long building facades and for helping break up the large wall surfaces through added details and visual interest. Oversized, projecting, perforated panels and vertical fins at the corners and along the front are used to dramatically draw attention to the building entrances. Combined with a fresh, bold paint scheme, colored glazing and mullions, the overall design creates a distinctive building that will long be recognized in the community.
