Located in Houston, Texas, the Panattoni Beltway 8 Corporate Centre Building #3 totals 133,000-square-feet and was completed in a mere 186 days (six months).
Tilt-Up was specifically chosen for its use of self-performance concrete as well as the ability to control the quality of the panels. Further, Tilt-Up offered the design team a means for creating a building that is flexible, economic and durable. Fly-by panels, which detach from the building, and exterior walls, which slip into the lobby and the interior floor surface and then slip out into the landscape, blur the boundary between inside and outside. Ribbed panels and a metal panel profile are used as a roof-screen in a seamless transition.
This technique of Tilt-Up construction was utilized in a manner to produce a unique identity for a building set within a business park.
