Safety Director

Seretta Construction is a full service commercial concrete contractor.  We contract work throughout the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic Region of the United States with occasional work in the Caribbean.  The Company was formed in 1987, and has grown to employ roughly 400 people and complete about $50M annually.  Our work is generally at grade (non high-rise) and we provide foundations, tiltwall, slabs on grade, elevated slabs on deck, and miscellaneous site concrete.

We currently have an open position available in our Charlotte, NC office.  The Safety Director is responsible for managing all aspects of Seretta Construction’s Safety and Fleet Safety Program.  He/She is responsible for maintaining the high standards of conduct set forth by the Company, and staying current on all new OSHA regulations and safety trends.

The ideal candidate will need to be an aggressive self-starter, disciplined, organized and methodical.  A hands-on approach to the safety of our people as well as those around them is necessary.  This position also requires traveling (although seldom overnight) to all jobsites - office time will be minimal.  Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus, but not necessary.  A partial list of specific responsibilities follows:

  1. Train all employees on jobsite safety and the use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). 
  2. Maintain and update MSDS books and Haz-Com programs.
  3. Supervise Weekly Tool Box Safety meetings.
  4. Produce safety reports for and communicate effectively with general contractors.
  5. Maintain current certifications, as well as obtaining all necessary certifications for employees.  (Including: Forklift, First Aid, CPR and Respiratory)
  6. Handle all Workers’ Compensation claims.
  7. Monitor employees on jobsite and reprimand when necessary.
  8. Update Safety Manual, Safety Video, and employment documents as necessary.
  9. Administer the Fleet Safety Program for fleet of 50 to 60 vehicles.
  10. Recognize potential hazards on the jobsite and take actions to correct the situation.

Project Manager – Warehouse/Industrial Construction

A privately owned, North Jersey based Design/Build general contracting firm, seeks an experienced project manager. Our company, founded in 1967, specializes in the development of large distribution centers. Qualified candidates will be experienced in all phases of project development and will work closely with our in-house design and engineering professionals with regard to initial design and procurement of all required approvals and construction permits. Upon receipt of approvals, the project manager will be responsible for the on-site supervision and coordination of all self-performed trades, as well as sub-contractors. Plant Production Manager

Job Duties: Responsible for coordinating with lead personnel to meet product production including directing plant staff; keep project files current; manage & track employee hours per project; manage bed space -- determine what molds need to be lifted and what molds need to be set; QC check master molds before product is poured; interact with sales team on production times and scheduling; help monitor raw material inventory; assist with equipment repair; work with agencies and inspectors (Denver Fire Department, CO Dept. of Health, air pollution permits, hazardous material reports, City of Denver, Waste Water, etc.); perform employee performance evaluations; utilize Microsoft Project software for scheduling; Other requirements needed to effectively manage shop operations.

About Scott System: Our company manufactures form liners for architectural concrete. Essentially, we make large rubber-type molds that are used by concrete producers (precasters and cast-in-place concrete contractors) to create textures in concrete walls. Technical Tilt-Up Specialist

A. H. Project Superintendent

Caisteal Builders, Inc. (CBI) is located in Anaheim, California is looking for a qualified person to join our team.  CBI is a full service General Contractor who specializes in ground up projects.  Ground up projects in unique and challenging tilt-up construction and structural steel.  The projects range form $1,000,000 to $12,000,000 private work only.  Design-Build is 60% of our business and Plans and Specification is 40%.

The individual who we are seeking is a person who is looking for a career, growth (personal and professional) with our firm.  The position requires the following:

  1. Strong knowledge of Concrete Tilt-Up design concept, use and components.
  2. Use of a Lazer, check grades, building corners, elevations, bolt settings all embed, ledgers and reveals.
  3. Understand slab and panel pours in relation to the amount of cubic yardage per hour and the correct amount of finishers per s.f  on each pour.
  4. Full understanding of engineered panel books and shop drawings.
  5. Understand the sequence of a panel raise and the number of panels per hour needed.
  6. Full understanding of each trade and the coordination of those trades.
  7. Display organization of project through coordination meeting and two week schedule.
  8. Understand the Civil design and all designed elevations for building pad, utilities, site concrete, driveways and parking lot.
  9. Strong knowledge of all aspects of grading, PIP concrete and underpinning of footings/slabs.

I am seeking a position that will fully utilize my experience and expertise while offering rewards that commensurate with performance.

Experience

  • Coordinate, schedule and inspect work to be done on project. Projects have included more than 10 different sub-contractors and suppliers who work closely with me from start to finish to meet project completion dates.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers on problems, and or discrepancies on and during construction, including coordinating periodic inspections, along with information on change orders during the many phases of construction.
  • Schedule all necessary inspections with project engineers, as well as city inspectors.
  • Periodical review of shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with project specifications and the tracking of specialty items on lead-time materials.
  • Inform and coordinate with the project representative on a daily basis of outages of utilities throughout the entire project if facilities are open for business throughout the entire duration on project.
  • Held weekly safety meetings to ensure a clean, safe environment for both the owner and sub-contractors during construction of the project. Coordinate and schedule multiple projects on a daily basis.
