Iyad "Ed" Alsamsam works to improve and expand the use of portland cement and concrete for low-, mid- and high-rise buildings and special structures including stadiums, airports and tanks.

Alsamsam is responsible for developing publications, design software, conducting seminars, technical support, performing feasibility studies and managing R&D projects. He is an active member of the American Concrete Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois, and serves on several technical committees of ACI and ASCE.

Alsamsam has authored, published and presented numerous papers and reports in the field of structural engineering.
