Ed Sauter has been the Executive Director of the Tilt-Up Concrete Association since 1992. TCA has grown
from 160 members to over 440 during the past 9 years with members in 42 states and 15 countries.
Prior to joining TCA, Mr. Sauter was CEO of a manufacturer of insulated sandwich wall systems for tilt-up
and precast construction and a practicing architect.
Ed’s experience with Tilt-Up is as an architect and speaker. He has made numerous presentations on
finishes, energy efficiency, and markets for tilt-up construction. He has authored several articles on tilt-up
and energy efficient construction.
Ed received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State University in 1972 and is a registered and
NCARB certified architect. He is a member of the American Concrete Institute and is chair of ACI
Committee 650: Tilt-Up Constructor Certification and ACI Committee 332: Residential Construction. Sauter
is also a member of ACI Committee 551: Tilt-Up Construction.
