UPS Sandy Creek Hub

Project summary provided by submitting company.

During the winter of 2016, UPS decided to build a hub in Fulton County, Georgia. Martin Concrete was able to partner with Commerce Construction, Majestic Realty, and Randall Paulson to build this massive 2.74 million sf warehouse distribution hub. The building consists of a main corridor with 7 independent fingers making the total square footage of the building 1.24 million sf. The project also consisted of 1.5 million sf of truck paving and has 10,000 linear feet of tilt up walls measuring up to 2 miles in distance. Throughout the duration of this project, Martin Concrete produced, poured and finished over 85,000 cubic yards of concrete. The distribution hub is equipped with 430 dock doors for truck access, which took a total of 640 tilt wall panels ranging in sizes from 8-10 inches thick and heights ranging from 32-56 ft tall. Martin's wholly owned crane company, Full-Tilt Crane Services, lifted all 640 panels within 30 days. Martin Concrete's independent divisions which include Full-Tilt, MC Ready Mix and Martin Finishing allowed Martin to complete this large concrete project completely in house. Because of Martin's vast in-house resources, they were able to complete all phases of the concrete work within the scheduled time frame.
