Lakeside Hospital in Belle Glade

The Lakeside Hospital, a three-story metal structure skinned with Tilt-Up panels, is a unique hybrid of Tilt-Up concrete and metal construction.

The conversion of the exterior skin from a precast system to Tilt-Up helped cut down on construction costs. Hanging the site-cast panels from a steel frame eliminated pieces, and the integral returns and ledge caps provided additional cost savings while maintaining the desired aesthetic.

Reveals, recesses and rustication, formed into the concrete during pouring, add architectural appeal. Two-story freestanding panels surround the chiller plant structure to create a visually appealing veil for the building's mechanical aspects. The clean lines and soft colors of the structure produce a calming atmosphere.

As one of the few large buildings in the farming community of Belle Glade, this facility has helped to create jobs and encourage growth.
