The beauty and design versatility achieved with the Tilt-Up method is evidenced by the Youngquist Residence. The 25,000-square-foot single-family home, designed to emulate traditional concrete block, has many of the same aesthetical features found on luxury homes in this area of Florida including precast concrete moldings, a 38-foot tall half round stairwell, columns, rounded windows and doors as well as an eight-car garage.
Design and practicality were top of mind when using Tilt-Up construction due to the area being a common target for major storms, lighting, hurricanes and tornadoes. And while the home far exceeds the state’s strict residential building codes by achieving a hurricane force wind rating of 200-mph, it also offers superior fire resistance and containment. The speed of construction, 180 days, was exceptional for a house of this size, a benefit to homebuilders that is as impressive as the finished product.
The Youngquist Residence advances the Tilt-Up construction industry by providing safety and security while showcasing the method’s unique design flexibility, superior strength and beauty with aesthetic capabilities.
