IR Bobcat wanted a high-profile facility in the state where "Bobcat' was developed. They chose one of the busiest interstates in North Dakota for its location, and selected Tilt-Up construction as the building method because they were intrigued with the architectural possibilities. Additionally, by providing indoor parking on the lower floor, offices on the main floor and a large conference and training facility on the upper floor, the building was elevated enough to achieve the desired visibility.
The concrete Tilt-Up panels are paired with a pre-engineered Steelox metal building system and a standing-seam metal roof for this 64,374 square foot facility. One of the special features of the concrete Tilt-Up panels is the appearance of a continuous band of windows across the front façade. In reality, every other window is spandrel glass, which covers the concrete panel behind it.
The tallest panel is 40.5 feet tall and the heaviest panel weighs more than 65,000 lbs. The facility was constructed in 285 days.
