TCA Tilt-Up Project Profile - Warehouse/Distribution Division

Article tools: Coming soon!

The Malouf Fine Linens office and warehouse facility has a design that is simple, honest, and timeless. The exterior has a classic black and white color scheme, adding to its timeless nature. This state-of-the-art facility sets a new standard for office warehouse buildings. The structure houses a full-size basketball court, a multi-tier fitness area, spacious club-style locker rooms, a massage room, a barber shop, a large professional kitchen, an oversized dining area, a photo studio, a large two-story atrium, high-tech conference rooms, modern open office areas, the executive office and an outdoor patio area. The two-story lobby, conference rooms, and several of the office areas all have floor-to-ceiling glazing providing outdoor views and natural light. There are three large skylights, as well as transom windows in the warehouse areas. The building is energy efficient due to the envelope, an abundance of natural lighting, light reflective interiors, energy controls, energy-efficient fixtures and appliances, and a large solar array on the roof. The character of the building changes as the design and finishes become more refined.

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
