Building A and Building F at The Shops of Canton Crossing are a great example of the tilt-up method of construction. In addition to overcoming a small footprint, this project was challenged with incorporating numerous high-level architectural finishes. The buildings used interior and exterior innovative panels to create vestibules. Tilt-wall panels were placed in front of the buildings to achieve the "vestibule look", as required by the design team and national tenants.

This project used Endicott Thin Brick supplied by Innovative Brick Systems. Form Services, through Meadow Burke Engineering, provided the lifting and bracing inserts, rings clutches for erection rigging and braces. LRW Willson was the panel erector and Precision Concrete Construction was the concrete subcontractor. Building F also required the use of badgers brace anchors (helical anchors) for the entrance panels to be braced to the outside where they overlapped interior panels. Precision Concrete Construction owns the new innovation system and is a certified installer. The tilt-wall panel design also included a form liner finish and exposed concrete.

By using the tilt-up method, the cost of construction was greatly reduced (as opposed to using structural steel and light gauge framing). The tilt-up panels allowed for an economical method to raise the front elevation and maintain the architectural features without any compromise to the architect's original design. This method also allowed the quick construction schedule to be met on time.

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
