Clayco Honored In “Best Places to Work” Hall of Fame

For third year in a row, the design-builder earned St. Louis Business Journal’s award based on employee feedback

St. Louis, Missouri (May 2, 2008) -- Clayco Inc. was honored for the third year in a row in the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” competition and for the second year in the publication’s Hall of Fame. According to the St. Louis Business Journal, the Hall of Fame was set up last year to recognize companies that previously placed first and have finished among the top three in its size category again this year.

This year’s “Best Places to Work” winners were honored at the awards dinner on Thursday, April 12, at The Pageant Nightclub in St. Louis. Greg Beck, chief financial officer, accepted the award on Clayco’s behalf. Clayco was selected as a winner based upon employees’ responses to an online survey asking about everything from the work environment to benefits. Each of the more than 200 companies that participated in the survey was given a score by Quantum Market Research, which administered the program.

Clayco’s 950 employees enjoy benefits such as onsite oil changes and car washes; a casual dress code; weekly breakfasts; rewards for accomplishments; financial counseling and an employee fitness center. “Working at Clayco is a very rewarding experience,” said Teri Brown, Clayco’s human resources administrator and payroll director. “Clayco really encourages employees to be active in the community by encouraging us to participate in the company matching charitable contribution program and by allowing us time off to attend volunteer meetings and events.”
