Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute Appoints Neal Anderson as Vice President

Anderson comes to CRSI with more than 21 years of engineering experience at the Chicago-area consulting firm Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.

Schaumburg, Illinois (February 11, 2008) -- The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Neal S. Anderson, PE, SE, as the new Vice President of Engineering, effective January 21st. Mr. Anderson will be responsible for all CRSI technical development efforts, as well as all external engineering-related communications.

Mr. Anderson comes to CRSI with more than 21 years of engineering experience at the Chicago-area consulting firm Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE). He has been involved in a variety of bridge, building, and stadium projects; structural forensic investigations; engineering research; and has published numerous technical papers, many focusing on anchorage to concrete.

Mr. Anderson is an active member of several American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Committees, including ACI 318E, Shear and Torsion, and the PCI Industry Handbook Committee. He has also served as a principal instructor for the ACI Appendix D seminars and for the National Highway Institute's (NHI) course on bridge construction inspection. Neal has an extensive engineering background and is very involved in the design and construction community.

Mr. Anderson has a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, where his graduate work focused on stirrup detailing for reinforced concrete. He is a registered Structural Engineer in Illinois and Nebraska, and a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Kansas.
