TCA Elects New Board of Directors, Alan Wilson Elected President

Mt. Vernon, Iowa (January 25, 2008) -- The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) – a non-profit international organization that serves to expand and improve the use of Tilt-Up as the preferred construction method – has announced the election of new board members and the slate of officers for the 2008 year.

Alan Wilson, AIA, design principal at The Haskell Company (Jacksonville, Fla.) was elected president of the TCA Board of Directors at its annual meeting on Jan. 24. Wilson has been a member of the Tilt-Up construction industry more than twenty years, is a registered architect, and is a past-president of the AIA chapter in Jacksonville, Fla. Wilson currently serves on the chapter’s Board of Directors.

In other business, TCA announced its 2008 Tilt-Up Achievement Award winners, recipients of the Peter Courtois, Robert Aiken Innovation, Murray Parker Memorial, Irving Gill Distinguished Architect and TCA Distinguished Engineer awards as well as conducted a short business meeting. TCA was founded in 1986 to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment.
