Work Underway for Tilt-Con Corporation on New Timbercreek/University Relief High School in Orlando
Tilt-Con’s scope of work includes foundations, slab-on-grade and tilt-up concrete wall panels.
Orlando, Florida (December 3, 2007) -- Orlando-based Tilt-Con Corporation is well underway on the School Board of Orange County’s new 10-building, 353,379-square-foot Timbercreek/University Relief High School located at 650 Columbia School Road in Orlando, FL. Selected for its unrivaled performance and speed of execution, Tilt-Con utilizes its economical system for tilt-up concrete walls. Ranked as Florida’s largest tilt-up concrete constructor by Engineering News-Record magazine, Tilt-Con’s scope of work includes foundations, slab-on-grade and tilt-up concrete wall panels.
Tilt-up concrete construction is a technique of casting concrete wall panels on a flat, horizontal surface such as a floor slab or a temporary casting bed, directly on site. The panels are then lifted or “tilted” into place using a mobile crane. James A. Cummings, Inc. is the general contractor. The project was designed by SchenkelShultz, Orlando. Completion is slated for March 2008.
