Orlando-based Tilt-Con Corporation Awarded Prestigious Eagle Award in the 2007 ABC Excellence in Construction Awards Competition

Tilt-Con received the award for its work at the University of South Florida’s Crosley Campus Academic Building

Orlando, Florida (November 29, 2007) -- Orlando-based Tilt-Con Corporation received a prestigious Eagle Award in the 2007 ABC Excellence in Construction Awards Competition held by the Associated Builders and Contractors. Tilt-Con received the award for its work at theUniversity of South Florida’s Crosley Campus Academic Building in Sarasota, FL ($10-$20 Million Concrete Category). Signifying ABC’s highest honor, Tilt-Con received the award for its work at the University of South Florida’s Crosley Campus Academic Buildingin Sarasota, FL ($10-$20 Million Concrete Category).

The Eagle Award was formally presented at its annual awards banquet on October 13, 2007 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. Tilt-Con is ranked as Florida’s largest tilt-up concrete constructor by Southeast Construction magazine. Tilt-up concrete construction is a technique of casting concrete wall panels on a flat, horizontal surface such as a floor slab or a temporary casting bed, directly on site. The panels are then lifted or “tilted” into place using a mobile crane.
