Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute Appoints Jack Gibbons as Central Region Manager

Schaumberg, Illinois (August 6, 2007) -- The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Gibbons as the new Central Region Manager. In this position, Mr. Gibbons will be responsible for managing all CRSI activities in the Central Region (North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois) and within the Region’s individual chapters.

Mr. Gibbons comes to CRSI with more than 30 years of experience in the concrete construction industry with several of those years focused on concrete mix design and application. He studied communications at Southern Illinois University and spent two years serving in the United States Army. Mr. Gibbons has worked for Master Builders (now BASF Admixture Systems) as their National Account Manager and for Euclid Chemical as their Director of Technical Services responsible for Technical Marketing of Concrete Specialties. Most notable are the ten years he spent as Director of Quality Control for Central Ready Mix in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was involved in the construction of the Santiago Calatrava-designed Milwaukee Art Museum.

Most recently, Mr. Gibbons was the Director of Quality Control for Prairie Materials in Chicago, Illinois. While at Prairie Materials, he worked on the concrete mix design for the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. “In addition to his experience in presenting information on structural concrete construction and mix design to engineers, architects, and DOT’s,” says Bob Risser, PE, President, CRSI, “Jack brings extensive concrete construction expertise to our organization – knowledge that will be of great value to CRSI.”

Mr. Gibbons is a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and sits on Committees 302 (Construction of Concrete Floors); 360 (Design of Slabs on Ground); and 362 (Parking Structures). He is a past President of the Milwaukee Chapter of ACI. Mr. Gibbons will be working out of the CRSI office in Schaumburg, Illinois.
