General Session
Welcome to the Second Annual StructureWorks User Conference!
StructureWorks Precast Overview & What's New
A brief overview of StructureWorks Precast highlighting the main features and benefits to any Precast
engineering and drafting department. In addition, the presentation of the software will demonstrate
the latest functionality and improvements of the software. See how the benefits of StructureWorks
Precast can take a project from start to completion.
Advanced StructureWorks Precast Topics
This section will focus on advanced methods of modeling any building to minimize modeling steps
and effort. Specifically, the focus will be on the pre-insertion of objects inside of products prior to
insertion (standard products) and the effects this technique has on model and drawing creation.
StructureWorks Precast MC Overview
Introduction to Mathcad and its role in a Precast Engineering environment. Also covered will be the
StructureWorks eBook for Precasters that delivers standardized precast engineering content and
specific functions for user specific Mathcad worksheets.
Advanced StructureWorks Precast MC
Detailed discussion on how to create and manage local eBooks for company standards and how to
fully integrate Mathcad worksheets with SolidWorks and StructureWorks models. Learn to construct
worksheets using the design functions of StWpcMC. Create company specific functions for headed
concrete anchor design and weld design
API / SQL Topics
An introduction into how to get started programming with SolidWorks and StructureWorks. This
session will focus on understanding the API structure of SolidWorks and how to integrate with the
StructureWorks database. A section of this session will concentrate on how to generate custom
queries for specific company needs.
Drawings I
Basic drawing manipulation focusing on details, framing, and erection drawings. This session will
cover current tools required to complete these types of drawings and group discussion on possible
additional tools.
Drawings II
The second class in the drawing series which will focus on title block creation, piece ticket creation,
smart block attributes, and linking SQL queries to tables in any drawing.
Template Creation
This session will assist in answering the question; Where do I start in StructureWorks Precast to
create specific product intelligence? In addition this session will also cover the creation of product
insert templates (rebar, mesh, strand, erection and handling, generic embed assemblies).
Connections
This session will cover all the topics needed to easily make connections that are ideal for almost any
situation. Considerable time will be spent understanding the StructureWorks logic behind the
insertion of the connection object.
Administrator Topics
This session will cover basic administrator topics to assist the administrator in managing their
multiple StructureWorks users and their systems.
User Discussion and Roundtable
This session will allow dedicated time to answer specific StructureWorks Precast/SolidWorks
questions and to discuss potential enhancements to the software.
Layouts and Architectural Presentation
The focus of this session will be demonstrating the preferred method for creating a layout job (wall,
architectural cladding, etc…) from start to finish. Considerable time will be dedicated to best
practices methods to minimize the time and effort required. In addition, this presentation will have a
section focused on architectural precast. This includes working with an Architect’s model, how best
to communicate design requirements/ changes and how to make an effective mold of the
architectural panel.
