VERNON, IOWA (December 3, 2004): The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) – a non-profit international organization that serves to expand and improve the use of Tilt-Up as the preferred construction method -- has announced the release of the first Spanish edition of the Tilt-Up Design and Construction Manual.

The Manual will serve as a comprehensive resource for Spanish-speaking members of the site cast Tilt-Up industry. According to Jim Baty, technical director of TCA, many members of the Association had expressed interested in a resource that was written in Spanish.

“The growing number of Spanish-speaking individuals in our industry makes the need for materials in their native language pressing,” said Baty. “Further, the Manual will also be a valuable resource for our members in Central and South America.”

According to Baty, the Tilt-Up Design and Construction Manual series has long been considered the primary reference for basic and extended knowledge of “How to“ tips for Tilt-Up construction. Basic construction practices, advanced suggestions for success and key elements for safety and performance are just a few of the key topics covered in this volume.

TCA was founded in 1986 to improve the quality and acceptance of site cast Tilt-Up construction, a construction method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place.
