MT. VERNON, IOWA (Sep. 19, 2004) Hot off the press, the sixth edition of the Tilt-Up Construction and Engineering Manual is now available for purchase.

The Manual is the first part of a three-volume resource on site cast Tilt-Up design and construction. According to Jim Baty, technical director of TCA, the updated Manual not only contains substantial revisions, based on feedback from a wide variety of experts throughout the industry, but also adds considerable content in key areas.

TCA was founded in 1986 to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
