Degenkolb Engineers is an employee-owned
company with a staff that has grown steadily to
over 135 people. Founded in 1940, the firm
provides a wide spectrum of structural engineering
services to architects, Fortune 500 companies and
other corporations, healthcare institutions, major
universities, school districts, historic building
owners, and government entities.
The firm is distinguished by the use of the latest
analytical techniques, regular employment of
performance-based design principles, as well as
the ability to express complex technical issues in
ordinary language. The staff is directly involved in
technical innovation through participation in the
development of better techniques, seismic codes,
and evaluation guidelines.
A strong commitment to improved seismic safety
has been evident throughout Degenkolb’s history.
Earthquake reconnaissance on a global level has
been an integral part of its culture for more than
40 years. The insight gained allows professional
