Convention 2017 will again feature a series of seminars and events covering the basics of the tilt-up building system. The workshop, sponsored by HD Supply Construction & Industrial White Cap, will provide those contractors and design professionals unfamiliar with system, or those looking to firm up their comprehension, an in-depth base of knowledge to build upon. Tilt-Up 101 will also serve as a preparatory course for those taking the ACI/TCA Tilt-Up Supervisor Exam.

Tilt-Up 101 - An Introduction to the Art, Practice and Challenge of Tilt-Up Construction

Tilt-Up 101 is an intentional introduction to the industry described as site cast tilt-up construction. In order to get the most out of the multi-day experience at TCA Convention, Tilt-Up 101 quickly connects persons new to the industry or new to the construction method to the basic design, management and construction principles that make this method successful. This course is separated into three components to offer the attendee distinct elements to add to their Convention experience: Part I - Intro to Tilt-Up presents the overview of tilt-up as a complete building system. This will demonstrate the many trends and solutions that establish the vernacular for an entire industry. Part II - Building A Team sets the understanding of the roles that are available and required in order to be successful in the industry. Tilt-up is many respects a conversation as well as a practice and this presentation will define the key roles for the contractor and the variety of team interactions that deliver the entire project. Part III - Start to Finish - Tilt-Up Construction is a timeline perspective of the construction process. This segment offers many of the fundamentals that are part of certification process for supervisors as well as identifying the detailed elements of the site to completed work that is a tilt-up building.
