Outdoor Demo

Two years ago, in Denver, we asked leading suppliers of tilt-up tools, accessories and services to demonstrate the most common and costly mistakes made on jobsites at the 2016 outdoor demonstrations. The outdoor demonstrations at the 2018 Tilt-Up Convention and Expo in Dallas, Texas will expand upon that theme adding innovative solutions to the mix. This move is inspired by the extraordinary success of Tilt-Up Future Think held last spring in Dallas where a series of talks focused on emerging technologies and ideas with promising applicability for the tilt-up concrete construction industry were presented. Additionally we are seeking 2-3 tilt-up related challenges or competitions to be included. The event will consist of 12-14 stations, each presenting a single topic. Small groups of attendees will move from station to station allowing for more intimate and interactive demonstrations.

Transportation to Demo

September 20, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm

Busses will load outside of Grand Hall

Please load busses outside of the exhibit hall. Busses will shuttle the first group to the outdoor demo at 5:00 pm, and run continuously between locations throughout the evening. Those riding the bus will be given a wristband and for the safety of our attendees, only those with wristbands will be served alcohol at the event.

Encouraging attendees upon arrival and throughout the evening to spend time at fourteen stations will be companies advancing the technology of tilt-up construction. Inspired by the success of Tilt-Up FutureThink, these Solution Sandboxes will engage small groups in 5-10 minute introductions to different solutions to key problems contractors face day in and day out on projects. Collect your token from each of the fourteen sandboxes to be entered into drawings from a basket of grand prizes announced throughout the evening.

Featured Group Demo

Bringing together the latest reinforcement and cement technology, a live demonstration featuring a panel lift will take place during the evening. This panel to be erected, designed by Peak Engineering, has traditional steel reinforcement bars limited to 48-in. centers horizontally and vertically while the rest of the panel is reinforced with TSMR. A cement technology will also be on display as designed for construction projects on the planet Mars. The concrete placement will be simulcast during the Early Morning Roundtable moderated by Luke Pinkerton of Helix and Don Grieve of Peak Engineering. Then, while the assembly gathers in safe proximity to the 4.5-in. think panel, TAS Commercial Concrete will lift the panel to demonstrate the fast set and 3-d reinforcement technology.
