One of the great advantages of active involvement with the Tilt-Up Concrete Association is the opportunity for discourse across disciplines (architecture, engineering, construction, supply). This year’s education program features talks bringing together these sometimes divergent interests to highlight common issues, shared responsibilities, and opportunities for increased collaboration. Additionally, series of focused talks for designers and contractors will dive deeper into topics specific to each. The education program is proudly sponsored by Dayton Superior, Construction Materials, Inc. and Seretta Construction.

PMI has developed patented self-consolidating concrete (SCC) mixtures known as PlaceReady and FormReady for use in tilt-up construction. These mix designs provide unique solutions to age old tilt-up issues. Mixes are usually custom designed to meet the specific needs of the project.

This seminar will be focusing on the New Port Ritchey Elementary School Project, a challenging project that required early tilting strength, architectural brick fascia on portions of the panels, and a tight time table, as well as a contractor who had never used PlaceReady.

Many contractors have valid concerns about using a new product, this seminar will discuss how a ready mix supplier can produce SCC concrete consistently, accurately, and successfully. SCC has been used globally for over 20 years with great success on some of the world's most iconic and identifiable projects.

There is no reason why SCC cannot be used on your next project.

With the proposed implementation of ISO 45001 Occupational Safety Management Systems in 2017, and new guidelines from OSHA on safety and health management programs, now is a good time to review Safety Management Systems (SMS) from the logistical and historical perspectives. This seminar will cover several different Safety Management Systems. By exploring the common elements and contrasting their differences, attendees will be able to identify the best SMS for their employer.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations that went into effect on June 23, 2016 with required compliance by September 23, 2017 will forever change the construction industry.

Although many in the industry believe there will be additional delays in the regulatory action due to further research that is taking place, it is in your best interests as an employer and as a for-profit company to understand the history of the issue, the regulations that have been established and the impact this will have on the tilt-up and related concrete work in which you are involved.
