Troubleshooting High-End Finishes

Tuesday, October 1, 2013 | 10-11am

Shawn Hickey, President, SiteCast Construction Corporation

Tilt-up construction, is revered as one of the most broadly applied construction systems. Part of the attraction is the palette of high-end finishes that continues to grow in all regions. Contractors not only must recognize the wide range of finishes and techniques that are now available, accurate cost estimating and the ability to understand the impact to schedule are imperative to solve the complex conditions they can create in the field.

Hickey brings decades of high-end finish techniques and experience to this presentation. He will cover the design details, application and delivery options for such finishes as form liners, thin brick, exposed aggregate, staining, color admixtures, polishing and textured coatings.

Be sure to come prepared with your application questions to challenge one of the leaders in architectural tilt-up as this session will present common problems and solutions for successfully, and profitably, integrating high-end finishes on your next job.

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
