
Tilt-Up certification is a collaborative effort between the American Concrete Institute and the Tilt-Up Concrete Association.
Tilt-Up certification is a collaborative effort between the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the TCA. ACI is a technical and educational society with 30,000 members and 93 chapters in 30 countries and is the recognized leader in concrete codes and standards as well as certification. The TCA provides the promotion and performance component to expand the recognition and delivery of certification to the industry. ACI provides the structure and analytical component of the program.

Tilt-Up Supervisor
A Tilt-Up Supervisor is a person who has demonstrated proficiency in and an understanding of overall on-site administrative and technical management for producing Tilt-Up projects by passing the ACI written examination and meeting work experience requirements.
ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who obtain a passing grade on the written examination, possess five years (7500 hours) of verifiable construction experience, three years (4500 hours) of which must be experience in Tilt-Up construction.
The work experience must include 200 hours of supervisory experience in each of the following ten (10) specific areas:
- Safety
- Plan reading
- Scheduling
- Site preparation and foundations
- Slabs on grade
- Layout
- Forming
- Placement and properties
- Erection
- Structural Systems
Tilt-Up Technician
A Tilt-Up Technician is a person who has an understanding of overall on-site administrative and technical management for producing Tilt-Up projects by passing the ACI written examination, but who lacks sufficient work experience to qualify as a Tilt-Up supervisor.
ACI will grant certification to those applicants who pass the written examination but do not possess the necessary work experience to be granted full Tilt-Up Supervisor certification.
Re-certification is necessary every five (5) years, and requires successful completion of a written examination.
