Photo of Glenn DoncasterTim Manherz is the Vice President of Operations for TAS Commercial Concrete Construction. Tim began his relationship with TAS in 1993 as a project superintendent, advancing his way through the ranks of Superintendent, General Superintendent, and Field Operations Manager until he reached the position he holds today.

Tim graduated with Honors from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction, and was selected as Outstanding Graduate of his class. After graduation, Tim was recruited by Hensel Phelps Construction as a Field Engineer, and quickly made the move up to lead Field Engineer.

Tim has amassed more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, with his primary focus being concrete work. This vast experience allows him to train, mentor, and retain many of the outstanding TAS employees. He is a certified ACI Flatwork Technician and holds NRMCA Pervious Concrete Certification. Tim is also a certified TCA Supervisor and an active member of the ASCC and the Houston Chapter of the ACI.

TAS consistently produces over 140 jobs annually, with over 30% being tilt-up construction. Ranked as the #1 Tilt-Up Concrete Contractor by Concrete Construction Magazine in 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2009, TAS is also the first and only specialty contractor to be recognized in both Houston and Dallas as an OSHA Partner.

Recently, TAS generously volunteered their time and resources to ensure the 2013 TCA Convention was a pinnacle of success.  Tim was a key component of the execution of the mega-outdoor demo, the Veteran’s Memorial, to honor our soldiers who passed while serving our country.

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
