Tilt-Up Achievement Awards

Each year, the TCA honors those organizations, people and projects that have successfully illustrated the variety, beauty and flexibility of Tilt-Up construction.

The TCA Achievement Awards program was established to honor projects that use site-cast Tilt-Up concrete to introduce new building types, advance industry technology and provide unique solutions to building programs. The winning entries illustrate the variety, beauty, and flexibility of the Tilt-Up construction concept, as well as Tilt-Up's unique ability to get the job done faster and for less money.

24th Annual

This year's panel of judges recognized a total of 34 award recipients, including 12 overall Excellence in Achievement winners.

23rd Annual

This year's panel of judges recognized a total of 31 award recipients, and selected 11 overall Excellence in Achievement winners.

22nd Annual

The 2012 panel of judges selected 27 award recipients for Tilt-Up Achievement Awards, including 11 projects that were honored with the title of Excellence in Achievement.

21st Annual

In the fall of 2011, a panel of judges selected 33 award recipients for Tilt-Up Achievement Awards, including ten projects that were honored with the title of Excellence in Achievement. The award winners were honored on September 29, 2011, during the TCA Annual Convention.

20th Annual

In 2010, a panel of 14 judges selected 23 award recipients for Tilt-Up Achievement Awards, including seven projects that were honored with the title of Excellence in Achievement. The program was shifted from recognition at the World of Concrete to recognition at the TCA Annual Convention in the fall.

19th Annual

The 2010 panel of judges selected 28 award recipients for this year's Tilt-Up Achievement Awards and further honored six projects with the title of Excellence in Achievement.

18th Annual

In 2009, the panel of judges recognized a total of 44 award recipients of the more than 100 entries submitted and selected five projects from across all categories to receive the exclusive title, Excellence in Achievement.

17th Annual

This year, 105 projects were reviewed by a panel of judges representing the membership categories within TCA. A total of 40 projects received awards across all categories. Additionally, two projects received the exclusive title, Excellence in Achievement.

16th Annual

This year, 94 projects were reviewed by a panel of judges representing the membership categories within TCA. A total of 33 projects received awards across all categories. Additionally, four projects received the exclusive title, Excellence in Achievement.

15th Annual

This year's panel of judges selected 36 structures as award recipients, including three projects from across all categories to receive the exclusive title, Excellence in Achievement.

14th Annual

Although 37 structures were selected as worthy award receiptients, the panel of judges rated eight projects from across all categories to receive the exclusive title, Excellence in Achievement.

13th Annual

Twenty-two projects were selected to receive awards this year with three receiving further distinction for their excellence across all categories. These projects received the highest overall scores of all submittals.

12th Annual

Twenty-five projects were selected to receive awards this year with eight receiving further distinction for their over-all excellence. These projects received the highest overall scores of all submittals.

11th Annual

The 2002 competition was judged by a panel of five individuals experienced in Tilt-Up construction, representing the spectrum of disciplines required in the Tilt-Up industry. Seventeen projects were selected.

10th Annual

The fourteen projects selected as winners for this year represented the bold creativity that designers and contractors alike are beginning to explore with Tilt-Up construction. These projects captured the imagination of the owners that selected the teams of professionals.

9th Annual

The eleven winners this year demonstrate the tremendous variety and versatility of Tilt-Up as construction method. One of the winners for 2000 is not even a new building. It was an adaptive reuse of an existing Tilt-Up structure from a warehouse to an office building.

8th Annual

Nine Tilt-Up concrete building projects around the world were honored at the 1999 Achievement Awards ceremony held in at the World of Concrete Las Vegas.

7th Annual

In 1998, TCA honored ten projects that demonstrated outstanding achievement in Tilt-Up construction.

6th Annual

For the 1997 Tilt-Up Achievement Awards, a total of ten awards were presented out of over 30 entries received. Winning projects ranged in size from 24,000 to over 390,000 SF in size.

5th Annual

In 1996, nine winners of TCA tilt-up achievement awards were selected from 36 submittals - a record at the time - by a panel representing architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers.

4th Annual

In 1995, six winners were selected by a panel of Tilt-Up professionals.

3rd Annual

In 1994, a panel of Tilt-Up professionals chose six winners to demonstrate versatility in the application of tilt-up construction.

2nd Annual

In 1993, eight more projects joined the ranks of TCA Achievement Award Winners.

1st Annual

In the first year of the TCA Achievement Award Program, 35 entries were submitted to a panel of three judges who selected eight projects as the initial program award recipients.

 

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
