TCA Professional Awards
Honoring outstanding contributions to the field of Tilt-Up design, construction and innovation.
Each year, TCA honors five individuals or companies with professional achievement awards at the annual meeting that is held in conjunction with the World of Concrete.
Below are brief descriptions of the five awards:
Peter Courtois Memorial Award
This award honors Peter Courtois, who died in 1992 after serving as senior vice president of engineering for Dayton-Richmond Concrete Accessories (formerly Dayton-Superior Corporation). Courtois immeasurably contributed to the Tilt-Up industry and he served as the initial president of TCA.
Murray Parker Memorial Award
Named in honor of Murray Parker who died in 2000, this award was created to recognize a contractor who has significantly contributed to the Tilt-Up industry. Parker is credited with introducing Tilt-Up to an area of the world where many thought it was impossible to use the medium.
Robert Aiken Memorial Award
Honoring the achievements of Robert Aiken -- one of the founding fathers of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, the TCA created the Robert Aiken Innovation Award. Known for his inventive spirit that initiated a more architectural direction for Tilt-Up, Aiken is credited with the concept of casting the panels face-up to provide a medium for developing craftsmanship in the Tilt-Up construction method. This award honors those whose individual creativity has led to the advancement of the Tilt-Up industry.
TCA Distinguished Architect Award
The TCA created the TCA Distinguished Architect Awards to recognize members of the Tilt-Up industry who are committed to pursuing design excellence and advancing the industry.
TCA Distinguished Engineer Award
The TCA created the TCA Distinguished Engineer Awards to recognize members of the Tilt-Up industry who are committed to pursuing engineering excellence and advancing the industry.
