Citigroup Processing Center
2007 Tilt-Up Achievement Award Winner :: Office Division
Submitted by: Clayco, Inc.
Although Citigroup originally sought a brick façade for their 175,000-square-foot office building in Urbandale, Iowa, the tight construction schedule (they wanted to move into the office in just under six months) made masonry impossible. As such, Clayco, who had previously completed a brick-inlay Tilt-Up structure for Citigroup’s regional headquarters and processing center in O’Fallon, Mo., proposed a similar structure for the Urbandale site.
While a traditional brick design would have taken significantly longer, the Tilt-Up work on this structure was completed in just 30 days.
Clayco used 35,000 square feet of brick inlay with a sandwich panel insulation system to give the processing center an exterior that imparts a corporate feel and coordinates with the other structures in the surrounding office park.
Large structural panels placed at the front of the building support a great amount of spandrel glass.
