Selecting Tilt-Up was the obvious, and only choice, for the Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum in St. George, Utah as it was planned as an expansion to the existing Tilt-Up Dixie Center. Constructed by Hughes General Contractors and selected as a winner in the Institutional category, it was crucial that the addition match the existing structure in architectural appearance.

Since Hughes General Contractors also constructed the original facility, they were careful to follow the exact protocol to achieve the same integrally colored concrete, blended with the local sandstone.

Unique design elements included playful openings punched in the west walls, the addition of natural light in the gift shop area by rotating panels 90-degrees to create fin-like columns, and curtain walls that span between the columns to create functional sun shading devices. Further, a dynamic pattern was sandblasted into the high museum walls to give them a dramatic presence in the background.

A large opening was required through a 32-foot tall Tilt-Up wall panel for the expansion, requiring extensive structural reinforcing. Several panels also were notched below the main stair to create a cantilever, providing visual interest and impact to an otherwise ordinary wall.
