SiteCast Construction found Tilt-Up to be the most viable solution for a 49,300 square foot two-story elementary school in the Ontario marketplace. They broke ground on March 1 and the facility was complete in time for the 1999 school year in August - only 116 working days!

(View SiteCast's chronology of the project.)

The facility features 132 fully bricked and insulated panels. SiteCast used the Scott Brick System to achieve the brick look, as well as colored architectural concrete. Tilt-Up also was utilized for interior walls for the gym, corridors and stairwells. The tallest panel is 26 feet, 5 inches tall and the heaviest panel weighs more than 60,000 lbs.

The THERMOMASS Insulated Panel System by Composite Technologies Corporation was used for increased thermal efficiency.

Meadow-Burke products were also utilized.

"Tilt-Up construction allowed our local school board the ability to provide a new school within six months compared to using traditional construction methods which typically require eight to 10 months," said Shawn Hickey, SiteCast Vice President.
