Industry Involvement

The TCA is proud to be a member of or have its professional staff members of a number of leading organizations in the construction industry.

The TCA participates in the following associations to gain a better understanding of the issues facing our industry partners, our member organizations, and their customers.

Alliance for Concrete Codes and Standards

The Alliance for Concrete Codes and Standards (ACCS) was formed to monitor, review, assess and coordinate industry positions on provisions and proposed changes under consideration by national codes and standards writing organizations and to identify research required to support ACCS positions.

American Concrete Institute

The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is a nonprofit technical and educational society organized in 1904 and is one of the world's leading authorities on concrete technology. ACI is a forum for the discussion of all matters related to concrete and the development of solutions to problems.

American Institute of Architects

Based in Washington, D.C., the AIA has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857. With nearly 300 state and local chapters, the AIA serves as the voice of the architecture profession and the resource for our members in service to society. 

Concrete Joint Sustainability Initiative

The CJSI is an industry coalition dedicated to educating ourselves, our members, and the public about the role and responsibilities of concrete in sustainable development.

International Code Council

The International Code Council (ICC) is a member-focused association dedicated to helping the building safety community and construction industry provide safe, sustainable and affordable construction through the development of codes and standards used in the design, build and compliance process.

US Green Building Council

USGBC works toward its mission of market transformation through its LEED green building program, robust educational offerings, a nationwide network of chapters and affiliates, the annual Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, and advocacy in support of public policy that encourages and enables green buildings and communities.

 

About the TCA

Founded in 1986, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) strives to improve the quality and acceptance of site-cast Tilt-Up construction, a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place. Tilt-Up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, combining the advantages of reasonable cost with low maintenance, durability, speed of construction and minimal capital investment. At least 10,000 buildings, enclosing more than 650 million square feet, are constructed each year using this construction method.
